We eat with our eyes and nose. If it looks good and smells good then it will taste good. I make everything in my home kitchen. If there is a photo with the recipe it is what I made. I don't use stock photos. It's what I made and we ate. Not everything comes out the way I want it to the first, or even the second time. It happens.
I am not a Chef. I learned how to cook in greasy spoon Diners. Being a short order cook teaches you how to make whatever someone wants even if you have never made it before. You will see recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinners, desserts and canning here.
Don't be afraid to make changes in the recipes I post. You may want to add or remove something to make it to your liking, go for it. Thats what cooking is all about, making it they way you like it.
If you try one of my recipes let me know how it turned out. If you have a recipe you love let me know, send me a message with the recipe and I may post it for other to try.
You never know what you can do till you try. I never would have thought I could make things using yeast but once I tried, I love it. The recipes on here are al ones that I have made and trust me, they all didn't turn out right the first time, or even the second time. But I knew that I would get the hang of it. And you can too!
I am not rich, but my ingredients are very good. I buy on sale and freeze whenever possible. I vacuum seal as much as possible. It is worth the small investment to buy a vacuum sealer. Your meats will last 2-3 times longer with no freezer burn. I can, which I will talk about on here. The better the ingredients the better the results.
You look at a recipe and it says 12 servings but there are only 2 of you. Well don't worry I have a solution for that. You see it's only Penny and myself so we don't need 3 dozen cookies at one time. Just like with the meats you buy at the store most of what you make at home can be frozen. I take rolls, bagels, cookies, muffins, Pizza, cakes and a lot of other foods I make and freeze what I don't need right away in portion sizes for the 2 of us. I write the date and what it is right on the freezer bag. Then pull it out when we want it and it tastes just like we just made it.
I will admit, I am OCD about certain things and when it comes to cooking it really helps me to be better at it. Have a spot in your kitchen that you can work in comfortably. Get all you ingredients together before you start. Doesn't mean have them all spread out in portions like on the cooking show, just have them in front of you so you know you have everything you need. Have any measuring items and utensils out. The few minutes it takes to set up makes it easier and more fun to cook.
